It all starts where they stopped before.
As is known, an
agreement on the elimination of medium-range and shorter-range missiles — an
agreement between the USSR and the USA was signed in 1987.
The parties
committed to destroy all ground-based ballistic and cruise missile complexes
and not to test and deploy them in the future.
But in October
2018, Donald Trump announced that Washington was to leave the INF Treaty, explaining
that Moscow was not honoring its obligations.
And today Vladimir
Putin signed a federal law on the suspension of the Treaty on the Elimination
of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles.
